In honor of National Pancake Day March 4th I have 2 great games from Educational Insights to share with you! Educational Insights offers educational games and toys for children and is one of our go to places when shopping for children's gifts. The first is Pancake Pile Up, an awesome relay game.
This is my kids setting up the object of Pancake Pile up is to be the first player to pile all of your pancakes. I liked that it takes into consideration younger and older players. Pancake Pile Up is recommended for ages 4 plus but my 3 year old had a great time and completely understood the game. For younger kids you just let them get any pancakes and pile them up placing the butter on top for older players they actually have to get the pancake types (strawberry plain etc.) in the correct order of the card they draw and be the first to stack them up! My kids enjoy being active and I loved that we could set this up in the living room and allow them some active constructive play. They ran back and forth stacking pancake after pancake and actually tired themselves out!
The next game I have to share with you is Chef Showdown!
Chef Showdown is recommended for ages 6 plus and is for 2-4 players. Chef Showdown is a matching game. It incorporates alot of strategy into it which encourages critical thinking skills to be engaged. 3 year old must be ahead of the game because he could play this game also with just a minimal amount of help. My kids really liked that it was a game where you had to be the first to match they had a ton of fun trying to beat one another.
